Monospecchio: liefhebbers herkennen deze naam direct. Het is de Italiaanse benaming voor 'enkele spiegel' en betreft de vroegst geproduceerde serie van de legendarische Testarossa. Een unieke eigenschap die voorheen vooral als onpraktisch beschouwd werd maar tegenwoordig juist geroemd en geliefd is vanwege de zeldzaamheid. Dit exemplaar is nieuw geleverd op 24 januari 1985 door 'Crepaldi Auto' in Milaan en is daarmee een van de eerst geproduceerde Testarossa's. In 1996 is de auto geïmporteerd naar Nederland en in bezit gekomen van de beroemde piano virtuoos Wibi Soerjadi. Er zijn vele foto's gepubliceerd van Soerjadi met zijn Testarossa. In 2015 is de auto overgegaan naar een exclusieve autocollectie in Nederland. De auto is in de afgelopen jaren teruggebracht naar de originele staat waarbij de carrosserie volledig en professioneel is gespoten. De factuur van bijna 15.000 euro is hiervan aanwezig. Ook technisch is de auto uitstekend verzorgd. In de afgelopen jaren zijn weinig kilometers gereden en daarom is in oktober 2023 een grote onderhoudsbeurt uitgevoerd waarbij de distributieriemen en spanrollen vervangen zijn en de motor volledig is nagelopen. De auto wordt geleverd met een nieuwe APK. Dit exemplaar bevindt zich dan ook in topstaat, alsof ze gisteren uit de fabriek is komen rollen.
Ons exemplaar betreft chassisnummer ZFFTA17B000054639 en bevindt zich in fabrieksstaat: uitgevoerd in de iconische kleur 'Rosso Corsa' met 'Nero' zwart lederen interieur en handgeschakelde versnellingsbak. Naast de titel 'Monospecchio' mag de auto de titel 'Monodado' dragen. Dit heeft betrekking tot single-bolt 16-inch wielen die op exemplaren tot 1988 werden geleverd, in tegenstelling tot de five-bolt wielen op latere exemplaren. Voor veel liefhebbers is dit exemplaar perfect samengesteld. De banden zijn overigens zo goed als nieuw. Deze kenmerken maken deze Testarossa een zéér zeldzaam en gewild exemplaar. De Ferrari Testarossa is een legendarische sportauto die is geproduceerd tussen 1984 en 1996. Door de jaren is de auto uitgegroeid tot een cultureel icoon. Dit komt mede doordat een wit exemplaar prominent aanwezig was in het populaire tv-programma Miami Vice, waar hij een symbool werd van luxe, kracht en stijl. Het is dan ook geen wonder dat de Testarossa zo’n begeerde auto was onder de rijken en beroemdheden. De 4,9 liter V12 middenmotor met 390 pk zorgt voor - zeker in die tijd - indrukwekkende prestaties: een topsnelheid van 285 km/u en een acceleratiesnelheid van 5,8 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u. Het unieke en spectaculaire design, met de kenmerkende klapkoplampen, brede en lage vormen en kenmerkende luchtroosters is afkomstig van Pininfarina. De rijeigenschappen met de handgeschakelde 5-versnellingsbak zijn in één woord fantastisch. Het woord Testarossa betekent 'rode kop', wat verwijst naar de rood gespoten kleppendeksels. Dit woord is ontstaan in de racehistorie van Ferrari. De Ferrari Testarossa is niet alleen een sportauto, maar ook een GT. Omdat Ferrari wilde inzetten op de oudere doelgroep stond comfort hoog in het vaandel. Deze Testarossa beschikt over centrale deurvergrendeling, elektrisch bedienbare ramen en goedwerkende airconditioning en is dan ook geschikt voor langere ritten.
Monospecchio, vertaald naar 'enkele spiegel' is kenmerkend voor Testarossa's uit de eerste jaren. De eerste modellen werden uitgevoerd met deze enkele hoge spiegel, maar deze feature werd in 1987 afgeschaft vanwege het gebrek aan zicht in de spiegel. De enkele spiegel ontstond doordat de wetgeving in Italië destijds bepaalde dat het zicht naar achteren niet mocht worden belemmerd door carrosserie-delen van de auto. Vanwege het hoge achterspatbord moest de spiegel dus heel hoog worden geplaatst. De reden dat men koos voor slechts één spiegel is dat het onmogelijk zou zijn om vanuit een normale rijpositie in de andere spiegel te kijken. Deze wetgeving werd in 1987 gewijzigd waardoor de spiegel kon worden verlaagd en ook andere de andere zijde een spiegel kon worden geplaatst. Vanaf 1987 paste Ferrari dan ook twee reguliere spiegels toe. Hierdoor is de Monospecchio een zeldzame uitvoering van de Testarossa.

Monospecchio: enthusiasts will immediately recognise this name. It is the Italian name for 'single mirror' and concerns the earliest produced series of the legendary Testarossa. A unique feature previously considered mostly impractical but nowadays praised and loved for its rarity. This example was delivered new on 24 January 1985 by 'Crepaldi Auto' in Milan, making it one of the first Testarossas produced. In 1996, the car was imported to the Netherlands and came into the possession of famous piano virtuoso Wibi Soerjadi. Many photos have been published of Soerjadi with his Testarossa. In 2015, the car passed to an exclusive car collection in the Netherlands. The car has been restored to its original condition in recent years, with the bodywork fully and professionally painted. The invoice of almost €15,000 of this is present. Technically too, the car has been excellently cared for. Few kilometres have been driven in recent years, so a major service was carried out in October 2023, during which the timing belts and tensioners were replaced and the engine was fully checked. The car comes with a new MOT. This example is therefore in top condition, as if it rolled out of the factory yesterday.

The Ferrari Testarossa is a legendary sports car produced between 1984 and 1996. Over the years, the car has become a cultural icon. This is partly because a white example featured prominently in the popular TV show Miami Vice, where it became a symbol of luxury, power and style. It is no wonder, then, that the Testarossa was such a coveted car among the rich and famous. The 4.9-litre V12 mid-engine with 390 hp provided - especially at the time - impressive performance: a top speed of 285 km/h and an acceleration rate of 5.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The unique and spectacular design, with its distinctive folding headlights, wide and low shapes and distinctive air vents comes from Pininfarina. The driving characteristics with the 5-speed manual transmission are, in a word, fantastic. The word Testarossa means 'red head', referring to the valve covers painted red. The word originated in Ferrari's racing history. The Ferrari Testarossa is not only a sports car, but also a GT. Monospecchio, translated to 'single mirror' is characteristic of Testarossas from the early years. The first models were equipped with this single high mirror, but this feature was abolished in 1987 due to the lack of visibility in the mirror. The single mirror came about because legislation in Italy at the time stipulated that rearward visibility should not be obstructed by bodywork parts of the car. Because of the high rear mudguard, the mirror therefore had to be placed very high. The reason for choosing only one mirror is that it would be impossible to see into the other mirror from a normal driving position. This legislation was changed in 1987 so that the mirror could be lowered and a mirror could also be placed on the other side. From 1987, Ferrari therefore applied two regular mirrors. This makes the Monospecchio a rare version of the Testarossa.
