Some years ago we sold this beautiful 1959 Jaguar XK 150 3.8 Drop Head Coupe to a real car enthusiast. There are now several classics in his astonishingly beautiful “living room style” garage, and we were asked, due to the lack of space and time to enjoy it, to find a new owner for the XK. And of course we like to do that, because we don’t come across a car like this every day.
The convertible is hiding under its bonnet the strong (3.8 liter, 220 hp) Jaguar XK engine, and is in great overall condition. It is equipped with useful and beautiful options. The car was completely “body-off” restored in Germany in 2007-2008 by specialist OMTS. A photo report of this restoration is of course available. Since then it has only been driven 7269 miles. It was a very professional restoration, which can still be clearly seen. The body panels have a perfect fit and are super tight. The Gun Metal Grey paint also looks super and shows no scratches or other issues. The interior is of the same high standard: genuine quality leather and craftsmanship of a professional upholsterer to the smallest detail.
Various technical and comfort-enhancing improvements have been made, such as the 4-piston brake callipers at the front in combination with a duel braking system, a wonderful shifting Getrag 5-speed gearbox, high-performance aluminum radiator with automatic cooling fan, hazard warning flasher, comfort seats with integrated headrest, main power switch, etc. etc. There is also a handy Terratrip Probe rally computer built in (easy to disassemble if not in use) if you wish to participate in the more serious touring rallys.
The tough yet luxurious XK drives really superbly and is both handy for shorter journeys and just as it does at wonderful tours through Europe. The comfort seats provide an excellent and safe seat, there is sufficient storage space behind the seats and in the trunk, and the soft top can be closed and opened in no time. The mighty 3.8 Litre 6-cylinder does the rest to let you dream away and enjoy one of the most beautiful English classics…
